St Kitts to Nevis Ferry Schedule: iConnect, Passenger Ferries and Water Taxis

Charlestown pier on Nevis with Nevis Peak behind, seen from a boat crossing from St Kitts

The iConnect car ferry leaves Major’s Bay, St Kitts, for Nevis at 9am, 12:30pm and 5:30pm Monday to Saturday, and at 9am and 5:30pm on Sunday. Passenger ferries leave Basseterre for Charlestown from 6am, with the last boat between 6pm and 8:30pm depending on the day, and water taxis cross from Reggae Beach to Oualie from 6am until 10:30pm every day.

These times are the ports authority’s published schedule and iConnect’s own timetable, read on 4 October 2026. The published schedule is slow to change when a boat comes off the run. Confirm on the day before you travel.

What time does the iConnect ferry leave?

iConnect sails three times a day each way from Monday to Saturday and twice on Sunday. The crossing takes about 40 minutes.

Since 10 April 2026, iConnect has docked at Charlestown on Nevis instead of Long Point, until further notice. On the St Kitts side it leaves from Major’s Bay at the end of the southeast peninsula, not from Basseterre. Tickets are not required in advance, but iConnect recommends booking on its website or by calling 869-662-6818.

How much does iConnect cost?

A car and its driver cost EC$100 (US$40) one way or EC$200 (US$80) return on iConnect, as at October 2026. The vehicle price includes the EC$20 Nevis port fee each way, and every extra passenger pays the passenger fare.

Large SUV or 7-seat van, with driver EC$125 (US$50) EC$250 (US$100)

You pay on board by cash, credit card or cheque.

Can you take a rental car to Nevis?

Yes, on iConnect or Sea Bridge, the two ferries built to carry cars. Sea Hustler from Basseterre also takes a few vehicles, but it is slower and mostly carries cargo. Not every rental company in St Kitts allows its cars on the ferry, so ask before you book. If you rent from us, tell us when you book that you plan to cross and we will confirm it for your dates.

Pick up at Port Zante or the airport from US$65 a day. Check prices for your date.

Major’s Bay is at the far end of the southeast peninsula, past Cockleshell Beach, about 30 minutes’ drive from Basseterre. Arrive early for Sea Bridge in particular, because commercial vehicles get priority when it is busy and not every waiting car gets on. Our Nevis ferry guide compares the car ferry, the passenger ferry and the water taxi in more detail, and do you need a car in Nevis helps you decide whether to take one across at all.

Sea Bridge car ferry schedule

Sea Bridge is the older car ferry, running between Major’s Bay and Cades Bay on Nevis. The ports authority lists these sailings. Sea Bridge does not publish its fares online, so ask at the ramp.

Passenger ferry schedule, Basseterre to Charlestown

Passenger ferries leave from the Basseterre ferry terminal, a short walk from Port Zante, and arrive at Charlestown pier. Nevis Tourism puts the crossing at 25 to 45 minutes depending on the boat. Sea Hustler is the exception: it is an older, slower boat that mostly carries cargo, with room for two or three cars or one large truck, so it takes longer to reach Charlestown. Pick the table for your day.

Apple Syder took on water leaving Basseterre on 29 June 2026 and was towed ashore. No return has been announced, though the published schedule still lists its sailings. Do not plan around them.

How much is the passenger ferry?

An adult one-way ticket costs EC$30 (about US$11) on Lady B, MV Passions, New/Next Edition and Apple Syder, according to the ports authority’s fare list for Charlestown. MV Passions and Apple Syder charge EC$20 for a child. The ports authority does not list fares for MV Waterman or Sea Hustler.

Charlestown port adds a development fee of EC$1 a passenger.

Water taxi schedule, Reggae Beach to Oualie

Two operators, Blu Waves and Islanders Water Sports, run scheduled water taxis between Reggae Beach on Cockleshell Bay in St Kitts and Oualie Beach on Nevis every day. Both charge EC$40 (about US$15) one way or EC$60 (about US$22) return, and the Oualie facility adds a EC$5 fee. The crossing takes a few minutes, and after the last ferry it is the only scheduled way across.
